Setting up parental controls

  1. Open the Settings Menu (See Page 38)

  2. Use the BLUE ARROW buttons to highlight the Parental Control Change icon on the lower right corner of the screen.

  3. Press the BLUE OK button.

  4. On the Parental Controls Screen the following options are available:

    1. The User Id affected by these Parental Controls.

    2. Movie Rating – To change, press the BLUE ARROW buttons to highlight the current Movie Rating, then press the BLUE OK button to see options. Use the BLUE ARROW buttons to highlight the desired Movie Rating and press the BLUE OK button.

    3. TV Rating – To change, press the BLUE ARROW buttons to highlight the current TV Rating, then press the BLUE OK button to see options. Use the BLUE ARROW buttons to highlight the desired TV Rating and press the BLUE OK button.

      NOTE: For more information on Movie and TV Ratings see Appendix A on pages 71 & 72.
       

    4. Unlock Timeout: Length of time that the Parental Controls remain unlocked. This is used to access shows and movies normally blocked by the current user's Parental Control settings.

    5. Content Rating Boxes – Check any that are not permitted.

    6. Enable Parental Control – Removing the check from this box completely turns off any Parental Controls.

    7. Block unrated programs – Checking this box will block any programs that do not have a rating.

    8. Show info for blocked programs – Will not display the program but will show the program information in the blue Channel Info bar and the program title if checked.
