T V RATINGS
At the beginning of each program, one of the ratings below will appear at the top left-hand corner of your screen:

TVY - ALL CHILDREN Appropriate for all children, especially those under 7. Such programs are not expected to frighten very young children.

TVY7 - DIRECTED TO OLDER CHILDREN Appropriate for children age 7 or older, who are better able to distinguish between make-believe and reality. May contain mild violence that could frighten some children younger than 7.

TVG - GENERAL AUDIENCES Most parents would find this program suitable for all ages. Contains little or no violence, no strong language, and little or no sexual dialogue.

TVPG - PARENTAL GUIDANCE SUGGESTED May contain theme or material that some parents would find unsuitable for younger children. Parents may want to view with their younger children. A TV-PG rating will also contain one or more of the following one-letter modifiers that describe the nature of the material: V (moderate violence); S (sexual situations); L (coarse language); or D (suggestive dialogue).

TV14 - PARENTS STRONGLY CAUTIONED May contain material unsuitable for children under 14 years old. Parents are cautioned against letting children under 14 view unattended. May contain: V (intense violence); S (intense sexual situations); L (strong coarse language); and/or D (intensely suggestive dialogue).

TVMA - MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY This program is specifically designed to be viewed by adults, and therefore may be unsuitable for children under 17. May contain mature themes, profane language, and/or explicit sexual content. May contain: V (graphic violence); S (explicit sexual activity); and/or L (crude indecent language).

Please note that not all TV programs or movies are rated (i.e. news, sports and others). The TV Ratings system is voluntary. Select the “No Rating or NR ” option to prevent viewing of unrated programs. For more detailed descriptions of TV and Movie ratings, log on to www.mpaa.org.

MOVIE RATINGS

Movie ratings are set by the Motion Picture Association of America. MPAA ratings are only applicable to channels showing movies that have not been edited to meet broadcast TV content standards, such as Pay-Per-View, On Demand TV programming and premium channels like HBO and Showtime. Movies with an MPAA rating of “PG” or “PG-13” will typically have a more mature content or theme than an edited movie or TV program with a “TV-PG” or “TV-14” rating.

G - GENERAL AUDIENCES Contains nothing that is likely to be offensive to most parents whose younger children view the film. This rating does not, however, always indicate a children’s film.

PG - PARENTAL GUIDANCE SUGGESTED A film that should be watched or asked about by parents before their children view it. There may be some profanity, violence, or brief nudity––but not enough to merit a stronger warning.

PG 13 - PARENTS STRONGLY CAUTIONED Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Expect a more mature theme and violence, nudity, or adult language.

R - RESTRICTED Adult material, which may include language, tough violence, nudity with sexual content, and drug abuse.

NC- 17 NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 17 Films carrying this rating generally contain graphic violence, strong sexual content/nudity, drug abuse or any other elements which, when present, most parents would
consider too strong and therefore off-limits for viewing by their children.

AO - ADULTS ONLY This is programming that is sexually explicit and, in most cases, not rated by the Motion Picture Association of America. Adults Only selections are not intended for viewing by children or teenagers and contain subject matter that some adults may find offensive.
